DTI orders ‘price freeze’ in NoCotPosted on
COTABATO CITY — The Deparment of Trade and Industry (DTI) has imposed a ‘price freeze” on basic goods in Kidapawan City and three other areas in North Cotabato.
This is to ensure that consumers in Kidapawan City and the towns of Tulunan, M’lang and Makilala are protected from unscrupulous traders.
These four areas were affected by the Magnitude-6.3 earthquate in October 16 and series of the aftershocks that followed.
Ken Wong, head of DTI-North Cotabato consumer protection division, said the “price freeze” covers the public markets and grocery stores in the four areas.
These four areas were earlier placed under a state of calamity.
DTI is closely monitoring grocery stores, pubic markets and malls in these areas. (Paul Allegre with reports from PNA)
