MAKILALA, North Cotabato— On November 19, Army soldiers Cpl. Brian Ayo-on and Pfc Allan Raagas of the 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, dropped their firearms to carry Luwel Laguyo, a person with disability, who travelled about 24 kilometers from his village Guangan, to join his group in the town center and receive his wheelchair and relief goods.
Laguyo, 40, is just one of the 167 person’s with disability who are victims of the series of earthquakes here.
Soldiers Raagas and Ayo-on handed their firearms to Sgt. Leo Morales and Pfc Erwin Vinluan to carry Laguyo.
Laguyo said it was a privilege and a rare experience to be carried by soldiers.
The group led by Teresita Suerte-Poria, president of women with disability here gathered to receive the relief goods donated by the OFWs in Vienna, Austria and Senator Bong Go.
The group received food stuff, hygiene kit, urinal, malong (tube skirt), toiletries and other relief goods they basically need.
