DAVAO CITY –— The long-dreamed tribal hall for indigenous peoples of Makilala town is now a reality in Barangay Malasila in Makilala town, North Cotabato.
Governor Nancy Catamco, whose bloodline roots from Bagobo Tribe, funded the P5-million for its construction during her last months as Congresswoman for the second district of the province.
The town is the home for Bagobo-Tagabawa tribes, and the building is designed as an integrated tribal hall, which will not only serve as the office of the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR, hence, it will also be a facility to every activity Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title/Ancestral Domain (CADT/AD) officers and members.
The building which was turned over recently sits in a property donated by Datu Ernesto Lambac and his family to LGU Makilala.
A deed of usufruct was also signed for such purpose with Datu Lambac as the administrator.-Newsline
