ZAMBOANGA CITY – The local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has closed city hall Wednesday to the public to pave way for the disinfection of the century-old edifice and the annex building that houses the seat of the local government.
Earlier, an employee of the local government was found positive of the dreaded Covid-19. The employee is among the seven new Covid-19 cases recorded Tuesday by local health authorities.
The city government has maintained a skeleton force at the Centro Latino Convention Center to cater to the needs of the City Hall clients.
“City Hall will be closed for disinfection today, July 15. A skeleton force will be maintained in Centro Latino in Paseo del Mar,” the local IATF said in its advisory.
However, the task force said that government offices housed outside City Hall will continue to operate, including offices such as the City Health Office, Office of the Civil Registrar, Office of the City Agriculture, Office of the City Veterinarian, and the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources.
“City Hall will reopen as soon as disinfection and decontamination are done,” the local IATF added.
