ZAMBOANGA CITY (UPDAted) — A chopper of the Philippine Air Force crashed in Upper Manggas, Lantawan, in Basilan Province, Wednesday afternoon, September 16.
The chopper Rotary Wing Rescue Aircraft of 505 search and rescue of Philippine Air Force with tail No. 202 left the Edwin Andrews Air Base in Zamboanga City and was bound for Jolo, Sulu for an emergency medical evacuation when it crashed at around 1:00 p.m.
The casualties include two pilots and two crew members of the rescue helicopter, said Lt. Col. Aris Galang, spokesperson of the Air Force.
The statement said troops of 4SFB are already on site to retrieve that cadavers of four passengers.
The official page of Maluso town stated that the incident was caused by poor visibility.
