Students to receive tablets, cellphones for online classesPosted on
DAVAO CITY – The office of First Congressional District Rep. Paolo Duterte will provide tablets and cell phones to students – from elementary to college – who are taking online classes under the distance learning due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a press conference, Duterte said he needs P18-Million to buy tablets and cellphones and that this is a considerable amount and he hopes to find a dealer with cheaper units or maybe there are people who can help provide the students the gadgets they need for their online classes.
“If there are kind-hearted friends out there who can help, we are looking for cheaper units, the ones that will last a long time and will not be ruined immediately,” said Duterte.
Besides tablets and cellphones, Duterte will also provide educational toys for children aged three to five years.
Members of the staff of the First Congressional District are constantly on the lookout for more families to help because of the pandemic crisis.
“We will continue to help the people and if there are additional needs that we see in Davao, we will address them first,” Duterte added.
Meanwhile, Congressman Duterte assured that his office will continue to provide assistance to his constituents. –Cheche G. Diabordo
