GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Some 361 senior citizens from Barangay Katangawan, Tinagacan, Batomelong, Upper Labay, Tambler, and Bawing received their first doses of Sinovac vaccine jabs on Monday, April 19, 2021.
The Monday inoculation represented the Group A2, the jab was administered by Dr. Lalaine Calonzo,.
“They came early and some were even in wheelchairs,” Calonzo described.
Based on the records of the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs, Community-Based Monitoring System data, and RHU databases, 28, 119 senior citizens are included on the city’s vaccination master list with 18, 388 eligible recipients who are endorsed for vaccine allocation as validated by the LGU.
City Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera together with City Administrator Arnel A. Zapatos, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Rochelle Gajete-Oco, and Chief Administrative Officer Karl Vincent Quiepo visited Robinsons Place Atrium, one of the vaccination sites for Priority Group A2 Senior Citizens in the city.
Also part of the city government’s plan for the vaccination program is to provide free shuttle services to senior citizens who are listed and qualified to get CoronaVac shots.
Rivera visited the vaccination site to find out the conditions of our senior citizen vaccinees. He also thanked all the healthcare workers administering the vaccine
