Torre named as acting CIDG director

DAVAO CITY —Police Regional Office XI director Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III has been appointed as the Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG). This decision comes as part of the recent changes in leadership within the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The announcement was made through General Order No. 2024-4486 issued by PLt General Jon A. Arnaldo, the Chief of the Directorial Staff, on September 24, 2024.3

The order, signed by PMajGen Sidney Hernia, relieves Torre from his position effectively starting September 25, 2024.

Moreover, Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Zamora Rosete is set to take over Torre’s previous role as the Acting Regional Director of PRO XI.

Torre’s promotion came two weeks 17 days after the arrest of televangelist Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused on September 8, the 16-day police operation was led by Torre at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound here.

Prior to his appointment as PRO XI acting regional director, Rosete was serving as Director of the Philippine National Police Southern Police District (SPD) of the NCR Police Office.

Torre belongs Philippine National Police Academy Class 1993 while Rosete graduate in class 1995.
