TUPAD Program Brings Assistance to 314 Kidapaweños

DAVAO CITY – Some 314 residents of Kidapawan City received financial assistance on November 21, 2023, from the TUPAD program (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers).

A total of 2,134 beneficiaries from three districts in the province of Cotabato received aid, the “pay-out activity” for the remaining 1,315 “TUPAD beneficiaries” was conducted yesterday. These beneficiaries hail from the towns of Banisilan, Carmen, Magpet, Pres. Roxas, Aleosan, and the lone city of Kidapawan.

A total of 314 Kidapaweños received financial aid amounting to P3,680.00 each for ten (10) days of community service. They represent various barangays in Kidapawan, including Amas (5), Amazion (10), Balabag (9), Balindog (17), Benoligan (10), Berada (10), Ginatilan (1), Ilomavis (10), Indangan (5), Junction (10), Kalaisan (10), Kalasuyan (10), Katipunan (2), Lanao (5), Linangcob (11), Luvimin (5), Macabolig (10), Magsaysay (10), Malinan (8), Manongol (5), Marbel (5), Mateo (5), Meohao (11), Muaan (9), New Bohol (5), Nuangan (5), Onica (5), Paco (5), Patadon (5), Perez (10), Poblacion (21), San Isidro (11), San Roque (10), Santo Niño (10), Sibawan (10), Sikitan (5), Singao (5), Sudapin (9), and Sumbac (5).

The beneficiaries successfully completed tasks such as installing mosquito nets on public school windows in their city and cleaning the school campus.

The national government allocated P1,155,520.00 for the “pay-out activity” in Kidapawan City, part of the total allocation of P12,692,320.00 for 3,449 “TUPAD beneficiaries” across the entire province.

The TUPAD program, aimed at helping disadvantaged/displaced workers return to normal life while seeking other employment opportunities, continues to be implemented in the province of Cotabato through the strong collaboration of Governor Mendoza, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, DOLE-12 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, 3rd District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos, and Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) Representative Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza.

Kidapawan City Councilors Airene Claire A. Pagal-Villarico and Judith Navarra attended the activity as representatives of Governor Mendoza. Other barangay representatives and DOLE officials were also present.
