Two bombs explode in Lanao del Norte eve of BOL plebiscite

TUBOD, LANAO DEL NORTE (February 5) —- Two bombs exploded in Lanao del Norte this afternoon, as the people here prepare for the  Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite tomorrow.

No one was hurt in the twin explosion.

Tomorrow is the second plebiscite which will determine if more areas will be added to the new Bangsamoro region.

Colonel  Alex Aduca, commander of the Joint Task Force Plebisito said,, a  still unidentified person aboard a hauler truck lobbed the improvised explosive device (IED) in Maranding, but the perpetrators remain unidentified.

The bomb which exploded in  Kauswagan, according to Aduca, was wrapped in plastic bag and place near a dump truck.

In an interview with reporters, Aduca revealed “Hindi kasi ma-tao ang mga lugar na yun. Pinapa-check na natin ang mga areas kung may CCTV that would help in the investigation.”

The military and the police heightened the alert level and checkpoints were ordered to verify every bags or pack passing their area.

The blasts came a week after a bomb attack in a church in Jolo, Sulu which killed 22 people and wounded at least 111others.-Divina M. SUson/NewsLine.ph
