ASUNCION, Davao del Norte (May 6) – A strong odor led motorist Kevin Dulao to discover two dead bodies along the roadside in Purok 3, Barangay Buclad, Asuncion, Davao del Norte, around 7:00 a.m. on May 6.

Responding police identified the victims as James Diansay Magapang, 21, and Franklein Roluna Lasaca, 21, both students and residents of Purok 12b, Barangay Calian, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

A damaged motorcycle was also found at the scene. According to authorities, the victims had figured in an accident that went unnoticed, likely due to the depth and secluded nature of the crash site.

Police investigations revealed that on the night of May 3, 2025, the victims had gone to a bar in Tagum City and were last seen leaving around 4:00 a.m. on May 4, presumably heading home.

Authorities found no signs of foul play in the deaths of the two students.
