University professor shot dead in GenSan

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A professor of the Mindanao State University here was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of the KCC Warehouse in Apopong, General Santos City at past 4 pm yesterday afternoon, May 26.

Professor Mohammad Taha Abdulgapor was with his unnamed wife inside their car when the still unidentified gunmen shot them. The wife was also wounded due to the attack. They were brought to Sarangani Bay Specialists Medical Center, but Abdulgapor expired past 8 pm last night.

Abdulgapor was a professor in the Department of Islamic Studies under the College of Social Sciences and Humanities in the MSU-GenSan campus.

He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bangsamoro Development Authority (BDA) and, concurrently, a member of the Local Monitoring Team (LMT) of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
