Van driver killed in NoCot

PIKIT, NORTH COTABATO — A still unidentified gunman shot dead a driver of a passenger van in a public terminal in Poblacion, Pikit, Cotabato on Monday, August 10, at 10:45 in the morning.

Captain Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit chief of police, said the victim was Magdaleno Gayola Dante Jr., 43 years old, married and a resident of Notre Dame Drive, Poblacion, Pikit, Cotabato.

Pangandigan said Dante was waiting for passengers in the terminal when he was shot by the assailant.

Responding policemen recovered five pieces of fired cartridges of Caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.

“The motive of the killing is yet unknown as the investigation is still ongoing,” Pangandigan said. — Taher G. Solaiman
