Vibrant opening ceremony welcomes Durian Festival in Tagum City

TAGUM CITY – The Durian Festival in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, was joyously embraced by the local community during its opening ceremony at Rotary Park on September 13.

Mayor Rey Uy led the event, joined by Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen of the People’s Republic of China, Tagum City Tourism Arts and Culture Council Head Alma Uy, and fruit exporters from China.

The local government has prepared a host of activities for the city’s residents, including The Great Durian Eating Showdown, Durian Feastival Fair, Durian Culinary Olympics, and the Durian Techno Forum.
