ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — The wife of a barangay captain and three others were arrested in barangay Tubok, Tamparan, Lanao del Sur Thursday, April 25, 2018, for possessing unlicensed firearms.
Police Senior Inspector Jemar Delos Santos, information officcer of Philippine National Police, Autonomous Regoin in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) identified the suspects as Aida Aidah Alo, wife of Tubok barangay chair Jamel Alo; her companions Omar Datualabi, 38; Mocaladin Datualabi, 38; and Bogari Sultan, 23.
The authorities, equipped with warrants of arrest for barangay captain Alo, but he and his-accused were out when the simultaneous operation was conducted.
The court issued four warrants of arrest for Alo and the following persons for kidnap for ransom; murder; frustrated homicide and; attempted murder cases

- Confiscated inside Alo’s house are the following:
-Improvised CALIBER 60 without serial number with 5 live ammunition and 1 magazine
-2 handheld radios - From the house of Omar Datualabi:
-One (1) Carbine without serial number with 6 live ammos and 1 magazine - From the house of Mocaladin Datualabi where Bogari Sultan was there:
-M16 rifle without serial number with 16 live ammos with (1) magazine
-one (1) PNP uniform
A base for handheld radio and handheld radios were also found in their possessions.
It was not clear who owns the police uniform.
The four were arrested for illegal possession of firearms
The simultaneous joint operations were conducted by the elements of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the PNP’s Special Action Force and the Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The four arrested suspects and confiscated items were now at the police custody for filing of charges Friday.
It cannot yet be established if Alo, is seeking reelection this coming May 14, 2018 barangay elections.-Divina M. Suson/Newsline.ph
