Village chief killed in Mati City

DAVAO CITY — A village chief of Mati City was killed by still unidentified gunmen inside his house at around 8:00 in the evening of Wednesday April 13, 2022.

Reports reaching Newsline revealed, Matiao barangay Caption Ronnie Valera was inside his house when one of the three suspects entered and killed the village chief hitting his head and two other bullets on his chest.

He was brought to the hospital but later expired.

Sources said the suspects entered the vicinity of Valera’s house passing through the backdoor.

Police has yet to issue an official report about the incident.

Earlier on, an anti-corruption advocate Donnie Lumikid was killed in the highway of Barangay Central in Manay town, also in Davao Oriental.
