Woman arrested for abducting infant in Davao City

DAVAO CITY — Members of the Bajada Police Station 18 have apprehended a woman who allegedly abducted a three-month-old baby at the Southern Philippines Medical Center yesterday afternoon.

The police successfully rescued the infant in the Mintal Relocation area of Barangay Santo Niño, Tugbok District, Davao City, shortly after 10:00 AM on October 13. The abducted child, who was suffering from an illness, was taken by a 36-year-old woman who posed as a Barangay Health Worker, using the alias “Mae” and hailing from Surigao City.

The suspect is now in police custody and is expected to face charges related to the abduction. The infant has been promptly brought to a hospital for proper medical attention and care.
