ZAMBOANGA CITY —A police officer who has been on top of the city’s anti-illegal drugs operation was caught hiding with illegal drugs inside his sling bag and inside his socks Thursday, March 9, inside the city police office but presented to the media on Firday, March 10.
Police Master Sergeant Marlon Dimaisip, served as the chief of the Drug Enforcement Unit of police station 7 here for years, but everything turned upside down after he was invited to the City Police Office on the allegations that he was among the suspects in a rape case.
City police director Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo in an interview with Newsline revealed “We were monitoring his activities because we already received reports and finally we caught him red handed, we immediately arrest him and we will file the charges today.”
On Thursday morning, Dimaisip returned to the station with a suspeted drug pusher and claimed a successful operation but minutes later he was ordered to proceeed to the city police office, an order he responded.
Before his police director, Dimaisip denied allegations that he was among those who raped a woman last week, but he was again ordered by Lorenzo to take off his uniform and his shoes and submit his bag.
During the search, police operatives found sachets of illegal drugs inside his sling bag and packs of sachets hidden inside his socks.
With the discovery, the police coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for a follow-up operations and conducted a search in his hideout where they found his three assets, unlicensed firearms and more sachets of suspected shabu were discovered.
Lorenzo said the civilian assetsidentified Dexter Herrera, Jonathan Espiña, and Rodel Julian acted as accomplice of Dimaisip.
During the investory, the police accounted more or less P102,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs.
in a press conference, Lorenzo said all the firearms will be submitted to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory to determine whether same were used illegal activities and in crimes.
Charges of illegal possession of firearms and violation of th Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2000 was filed against Dimaisip and his assets.
Dimaisip has been with the organizationduring the last 25 years.
