Zambo police seize P1.7M ‘Shabu’

DAVAO CITY — Police authorities in Zamboanga City busted some P1.7million worth of illegal drugs ‘Shabu’ Sunday, February 28, from a suspected drug dealer.

Chief, Police General Debold M. Sinas identified the suspect as ALMUTLAH MAHARAN alias “Mutla”, 39, male, and a resident of Barangay Mariki, Zamboanga City.

Marahan was arrested through the efforts of Special Drugs Enforcement Team personnel, Zamboanga City Police Station-11 led by PMSg Melvin Y Abil. Seized from the suspect were five (5) large sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated DDB value of Php 1.7M weighing more or less 250 grams.

Abil is presently under the custody of Zamboanga CPS for filing of appropriate charges in court.

“Our focus is to further intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and to enhance the effectiveness of anti-drug operations in breaking the backbone of the illegal drug trade, particularly high value targets and wholesalers.” Sinas said.
