ZAMBOANGA CITY – Families displaced by flooding caused by a low-pressure area in January expressed their gratitude to the City Government of Zamboanga for providing financial assistance through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

Mayor John Dalipe personally led the distribution of aid to 904 beneficiaries from the barangays of Pasonanca, Tumaga, Cabatangan, San Roque, Calarian, Capisan, and Dulian-Upper Pasonanca on Friday morning, June 18.

The mayor assured the recipients that the City Government will continue to support and assist families facing crisis situations. He emphasized that the AICS program is part of the government’s efforts to protect the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable sectors of society.

In response, AICS beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Mayor Dalipe and the City Government for the assistance, which will help alleviate their difficulties in the aftermath of the calamity. “This will be a significant help to us as we continue to recover from this unexpected crisis,” the beneficiaries stated.

Families with totally damaged houses received Php 5,000 each, while those with partially damaged structures received Php 3,000 each.

Representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Treasurer’s Office, and Executive Assistants JR Natividad and Edna Sumergido, as well as officials from the concerned barangays, were present during the AICS payout at the Cabatangan covered court.
