Zamboanga City honors residents with distinct contribution to the city

Zamboanga City-During its 86th Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga on February 25, 2023, the Zamboanga City Government honored individuals and corporations who brought honor and prestige to the city through their dedication and commitment in their fields of endeavors.

Mayor John Dalipe handed out the 2023 Local Achievers Awards to:

  • Orgullo de Zamboanga Premiar: Attorney Emilio B. Aquino
  • Top Individual Taxpayer: Al Hassan Chio Hasiman
  • Top Corporate Taxpayer Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines,
  • Investment Promotions SM Prime Holdings
  • Tourism-Oriented Establishment Woodland Resort and Restaurant, Southern Heights Recreational Park, and Peakview Café
  • Culture and Arts Musicians Buddy Zabala of Eraserheads, Mike Respal of Hagibis, and Marc Velasco,
  • Academe(Individual) Maja Alyssa Sojuaco
  • Academe(institution) Sarang Bangun Learning Center,
  • Sports Rose Jean Ramos
  • Community Service Zamboanga Quick Response System ZQRS
  • Public/Government Service SSS Chairperson Rolando Macasaet, Michael G. Regino, and DICT ASEC. Ma. Teresa M. Camba.
  • Boxing champion Eumir Marcial
  • Weightlifting Olympic gold medalist Haidilyn Diaz,
  • Public school teacher Verna Tubilag-Cruzat
  • Youth leader Ian Miranda.

“The Local Achiever’s Night is a celebration that honors Zamboangueños for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments in their respective fields,” Mayor Dalipe said.

Dalipe added that Zamboangueños should emulate the awardees who pursued their expertise with dedication and perseverance.
