12-year-old student killed by grandmother in Basilan

BASILAN– In a heartbreaking incident, a 12-year-old Grade 4 student lost his life in Lamitan City, Basilan, after being attacked by his own grandmother, who was reported to have mental health issues.

According to Lamitan City Police Chief Col. Arlan Delumpines, the 53-year-old grandmother, who was known to be dealing with mental health challenges, is currently under the custody of the police and the social welfare office in Lamitan City. The grandmother allegedly restrained her grandson and subjected him to a vicious attack.

The incident occurred in the neighborhood of Barangay Bohe Sapa in Lamitan City, leaving the community in shock.

The young victim was a fourth-grade student at a public school.
