13 C-130 survivors going home

DAVAO CITY — Thirteen survivors of the ill-fated C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft which crashed on July 4, in the village of Bangkal, Patikul in Sulu Province, are going home after spending almost a month inside the Western Mindanao Command Hospital in Zamboanga City.

Private First Class Al-Sharif Atuilla in an intervi ewiwht Newsline said they are only awaiting the clearacence from their physicians to go home.

“We are excited to be with our families,” he revealed.

All of them, he said “babalik kami sa serbisyo pagkatapos nang leave namin para makaserbisyo sa bayan at makatulong sa aming pamilya (All of us will go back and serve our country after our leave and help our families)’

Atuilla said he will miss his friends who lost their lives during the crash but “We will continue to pray for them and their families”, he said in Filipino.

He thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines, his family, the Filipino people and President Rodrigo Duterte for the outpouring of support, saying they felt that the government cared for them.

They express gratitude to Duterte, the AFP and the people, above all God (Allah) for his new life.
