1,922 Filipinos abroad infected with Coronavirus

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, May 7, reported 21 new cases of confirmed coronavirus cases affecting overseas Filipinos, bringing the total number to 1,922.

The DFA in a press statement said the number comes from 46 countries and regions. It also reported 34 new recoveries mostly recorded from Asia and the Pacific and 7 new deaths in the Americas.

Based on the updated figures, 4 previously reported cases in ASPAC were not confirmed.

To date, the daily rate of recoveries at 6.5% remains higher than the daily rate of new confirmed cases and new deaths among our nationals.

The DFA, through its Foreign Service Posts, continues to ensure the welfare of our nationals affected by COVID-19 pandemic and stands ready to assist returning Filipinos affected by the suspension of flights at NAIA.-NewsLiNe
