2 dead, 1 critical in motorcycle-van collision in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – A tragic collision between a motorcycle and a Starex van left two people dead and one critically injured in Purok 18, Logdeck, Barangay Marilog, Marilog District, on January 8, 2025, shortly after 6:00 PM.

Initial reports indicate that the motorcycle, carrying a man, his wife, and their one-year-old child, veered into the opposite lane and collided with the oncoming van.

Eyewitnesses said the impact was so intense that the motorcycle passengers were thrown several meters from the point of collision.

Emergency responders from the Barangay Baganihan Emergency and Respond Team and Barangay Marilog BDRRMC quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance.

The driver and the adult passenger of the motorcycle were pronounced dead on the spot, while the one-year-old child remains in critical condition.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
