VALENCIA CITY, BUKIDNON – A tragic accident occurred in Purok 4, Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon on the morning of July 31, resulting in the death of two people and injuries to three others. The incident was captured on a CCTV video, showing a speeding truck seemingly out of control, colliding with several tricycles and motorcycles.

In the video footage, the lifeless body of a woman can be seen lying on the road after being run over by the truck, which allegedly lost its brakes while descending a slope. The truck rammed into several tricycles and motorcycles, causing chaos in the area.

Another angle in the video shows one of the motorcycles being dragged and wedged under the truck. A person, presumably the driver of the motorbike, was trapped beneath the vehicle.

Witnesses to the incident mentioned that the truck driver seemed to have lost control before the collision occurred.

“Sherwin,” an eyewitness, recounted, “The first time I saw the truck, it was zigzagging near the water district. I noticed that it had no brakes, and then a hand came out of the window of their vehicle, signaling for help. I followed the truck until it hit the first tricycle, which turned upside down. The driver was okay as he managed to get out of the vehicle. The next thing it hit was another tricycle, and I don’t know if he was carrying the woman who died. After the tricycle, it immediately hit a motorcycle because there was another tricycle ahead of it. It seemed like they were trying to avoid colliding from the top going down.”

“Wewin,” a helper of the truck, stated, “How would I know that there were no brakes? At the water district, we were continuously filling the tank without brakes. I don’t know where the driver is because I jumped out.”

The accident left two drivers of the tricycles, referred to as “rela,” and one passenger of the motorcycle trapped and injured. They were quickly rushed to the hospital for medical attention. The victims’ identities have not been disclosed yet.

The Valencia City police are currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the tragic accident. Meanwhile, local authorities are urging all motorists to exercise caution on the road and stay vigilant while driving to prevent further accidents.
