2 New Buildings of DCPO Inaugurated, PNP Chief in Attendance

DAVAO CITY –The inauguration and turnover ceremony of the EOD/K9 and SWAT buildings, along with the firing range, took place at DCPO Compound, Camp Domingo E Leonor, in Davao City on June 30, 2023.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including PGen Benjamin C Acorda, Jr, Chief of the Philippine National Police, and other notable figures such as PltGen Filmore B Escobal, Commander of the Area Police Command-Eastern Mindanao, PBGen Alden B Delvo, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11, PBGen Alexander C Tagum, Director of Metropolitan Davao Police, and Eng’r Lilibeth M Sarmiento, Assistant District Engineer of Davao City Engineering District, DPWH R11.

The infrastructure, funded through the DPWH Infrastructure Program FY 2022 under the DPWH-PNP Convergence Project, consists of the EOD/K9 building with a budget of Php30,000,000.00 and the SWAT building with a budget of Php7,889,215.58.

The inauguration of these buildings signifies a significant development in enhancing the city’s peace and order situation. The addition of the EOD/K9 and SWAT buildings, along with the firing range, will provide improved facilities for specialized police operations and bolster the PNP’s anti-criminality campaign in the community.

During the ceremony, PGen Benjamin C Acorda, Jr highlighted the importance of these buildings in strengthening the capabilities of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and recognized the collaborative efforts between the DPWH and PNP. He commended the dedication and commitment of the officers and personnel who will utilize these new facilities to ensure the safety and security of the city.

The inauguration of the EOD/K9 and SWAT buildings represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance peace and order in Davao City. The investment in modern infrastructure reflects the government’s commitment to providing the DCPO with the necessary resources to effectively carry out their duties. These new facilities will enable the DCPO to address emerging challenges and fulfill their mission of serving and protecting the community.
