Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental (November 4)– The Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) Committee of the Province of Misamis Occidental has successfully conducted the Rapid Reintegration Program for 26 Former Rebels (FRs) enrolled under ECLIP on October 15-19, 2018.

In a report provided by the Department of Interior and Local Government, at least 26 rebel surrenderers received P15,000 immediate assistance and P50,000 livelihood assistance during the turn-over ceremony held at the Provincial Cultural and Farmers Training Center, Oroquieta City.

The financial assistance was turned-over by Governor Herminia M. Ramiro, Brigadier General Nixon Fortes, Assistant Division Commander for Administration and Logistics of 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army, and DILG Provincial Director Pablio L. Benitez, Jr.

The five-day Rapid Reintegration Program was initiated to further prepare the former rebels as active partners in nation-building. The program was designed to be a multi-dimensional intervention that covers, among others, spiritual enrichment, family therapy, psychiatric and psychological services, livelihood planning, and skills development.

“The activity does not only prepare the FRs to become active partners in nation-building but it has also strengthened the convergence of government agencies and stakeholders in attaining the objectives of the ECLIP,” the DILG release stated.- Jiann Padillo/ NewsLine
