2k residents benefit from public health program launch in a day

DAVAO CITY –— Some two thousand (2,000) residents from the municipality of Boston in Davao Oriental benefited from the one-day Oplan Panglawas program launch led by provincial governor Corazon Malanyaon on Friday, October 7.

Residents from eight barangay of said town were gathered for the free medical services. Medical practitioners from the provincial and municipal health office conducted a free consultation, check-up and provided medicines, vitamins to the attendees.

One beneficiary Maurelio Tambalisic, a resident of Barangay Carmen, a stroke patient for 18 years thanked Malanyaon for providing the services and her medicines because she could no longer buy for her maintenance as the conomic condition in the country further crunched.

In her speech, Malanyaon emphasized that the provincial government will intervene in the health needs of the residents “I am committed to intervene in the medical needs of every resident of Davao Oriental, I know your municipal government is here to respond to your urgent needs and medical concerns.’

. “We are really in difficult times with so many struggles we face each day. This program is just one of the ways for us to show that your clamors are heard and your needs are prioritized,” said Malanyaon.

The Governor urged the residents to make the most of the medical mission and avail of the free services.

Municipal Mayor Rowell Rosit expressed gratitude to the Governor for delivering the much-needed services that benefitted all of Boston’s people. He also thanked the Governor for implementing the ongoing Oplan Kalsada operation in his town, giving hope to farmers and residents

The Oplan Panglawas was made possible through the convergence and collaborative efforts of the participating agencies and stakeholders, including the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Municipal Health Office (MHO), and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), among others.-With report from Mark Alvite
