30 Davao City Jail inmates earn high school diplomas through ALS

DAVAO CITY (April 14) – Thirty Persons (30) Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) from the BJMP Davao City Jail-Male Dormitory in Barangay Maa celebrated a significant milestone by graduating from the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Senior High School program.​

The graduation ceremony, attended by officials from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Department of Education (DepEd), symbolized hope, opportunity, and transformation. BJMP Region XI highlighted that the graduates demonstrated that education is attainable through effort and determination, inspiring others to pursue their dreams despite challenging circumstances.​

This initiative aligns with BJMP’s commitment to rehabilitation and reintegration, providing inmates with opportunities to improve themselves and prepare for a productive life post-incarceration.
