Livelihood Assistance Distributed to Help Beneficiaries start their small business

DAVAO ORIENTAL – In a bid to help individuals from the marginalized sector start up for their small business, the provincial government recently turned over cash assistance to identified beneficiaries from the province’s second district.

A total of 65 beneficiaries have received cash assistance of P5,000 under the Nakakaisang Lingkod Bayang ng Davao Oriental (NLD) – Negosyo sa Lumad na DavOr-Livelihood Assistance Program (NLD-LAP) while 13 former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) have received P10,000 each under the NLD-Livelihood Assistance and Reintegration Program.

Facilitated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), these programs aim to improve the lives of the marginalized sectors who include former rebels, Persons with Disability, former Overseas Filipino Workers, and other individuals who are from priority areas of the province implementation of the Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).

As part of the Entrepreneurship management for aspiring entrepreneurs of Davao Oriental, Provincial Agriculturist and Head of the Provincial Cooperative Office Mr. Rotchie G. Ravelo, gave the beneficiaries some inputs and tips on ‘How to Start a Business’.

Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, who initiated the programs, wished them well in their ventures. He said the provincial government is working to reach and help those sectors who desperately need the help of the government.

The PESO Office is set to continue the said program on the province’s first district, covering Tarragona to Boston, Davao Oriental. (PESO)
