Army’s 39IB has new a commander

DAVAO CITY –— Charlie Company of the 39th Infantry Battalion installed a new company commander in a turn over ceremony on , July 19, 2023 at Brgy Maligaya, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.

Outgoing company commander 1st Lieutenant Aljon L Malinab handed the flag to 1Lt Victor D Marquez, the newly installed Company Commander before the community in attendance.

Malinab during his valedictory speech said being a Company Commander is the most challenging position he handled as a military officer while Marquez, the newly ensured that he will give his best as he lead the Charlie Company towards the accomplishment of the unit mission.

Lieutenant Colonel Ezra L Balagtey, 39IB Commander as the presiding officer during his speech congratulate the immediate past Company Commander, “Congratulations for hurdling the challenges you faced in the “VUCA” (Vulnerable, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) operational environment… the recognition you received today from various stakeholders bespeaks of your good working relation, teamwork and bridging leaders that you have done to consolidate efforts and initiatives through Whole of Nation Approach to maintain an insurgency free and peaceful environment” Lieutenant Colonel Balagtey said.

Balagtey advised Marquez to maximize his learning and carry on the culture of excellence that the past company commanders have manifested during their stint.

The ceremony was attended by Columbio Mayor Tondatu Mangudadatu along with officials from different government agencies such as MSWD, TESDA, DAR and PDVFA also graced the activity.
