DAVAO CITY – A four-storey Malasakit Center one-stop-shop was opened on Friday, January 29, by the city government at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go said the Malasakit Center aims to provide services to more people with medical assistance and other healthcare needs.

The Malasakit Center will house such government offices as the Lingap para sa Mahirap, Office of the President (OP), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Office of the First Congressional District Representative, and the Botika ng Bayan.

Go said these offices ‘can help you so that you will not have to pay anything.’

“The Malasakit Center has a budget of PHP44 million sourced from the Socio-Civic Fund of the Office of the President,” Go said.

”The Lingap and OP desks will operate 24 hours while the rest of the offices are open from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m.,” said Josephine Mitaran, the officer-in-charge of the Malasakit Center.

Mitaran said the Lingap office can cater to an average of 300 clients per day. – Newsline.ph
