DIPOLOG CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE — Residents from the five (5) villages of Imelda town in Zamboanga Sibugay scampered for safety as  their houses submerged during the Maunday Thursday flash flood due to the low pressure area.

Members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, the 44th Infantry Battalion and the municipal disaster risk reduction office proceeded to the villages Lumbog, Santa Barbara, Balugo, Lavictoria and Gandingan, all in low lying areas, to rescue the flooded residents.

The local government of Imelda distributed relief good and food stuff to 200 affected families.

The residents were immediately brought to Balugo Elementary School  which serves as their  temporary evacuation center.
