50 new COVID-19 cases, 17 deaths among Filipinos abroad

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday reported fifty (50) new coronavirus-19 cases among Filipinos abroad with 17 new fatalities in the Middle East.

The additional new cases bring the total number to 8,854. While the death toll is now a 611 with eight new recoveries bring the total recoveries to 5,274.

In an advisory, the DFA reported that as of yesterday, the agency has repatriated over 78,800 overseas Filipinos (OFs) since the government began its COVID-19 repatriation efforts in February 2020.

The DFA, together with its Philippine embassies, consulates and attached agencies, remains fully committed to bringing home our nationals abroad amid the COVID-19 pandemic.-Newsline
