DAVAO CITY (October 1)  – In a series of operations from September 21 to 27, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) seized more than PHP4.8 million worth of illegal drugs, the agency reported Tuesday.

The DCPO’s interim chief, Col. Mannan Muarip, said the weeklong campaign comprised 39 anti-drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 51 suspects.

The confiscated items included 707.118 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth PHP4.8 million and 96 suspected ecstasy tablets worth PHP163,200.

“DCPO remains unwavering in its mission to protect the city with the active support of the community and barangay officials,” Muarip told reporters. He also discussed the progress that has been made in the campaign against illicit gambling.

During the same period, 18 individuals were caught in 10 operations, resulting in the seizure of PHP9,115 in bet money and the filing of ten complaints.

In addition, 38 individuals, including 18 on the most wanted list, were arrested as a result of 38 operations against wanted persons.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of the DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit,” Muarip added.
