6.9M earthquake hits Southern Mindanao

DAVAO CITY — A 6.9 earthquake of tectonic origin hit various areas of Mindanao at around 2:11 in the afternoon, December 15.

The Phivolcs said the epicenterwas located at 06.64°N, 125.30°E – 006 km N 86° W of Padada (Davao Del Sur)

 According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) the Magnitude 6.9 earthquake affected countries: Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia.

The Phivolcs said they are expecting damage caused by such strong quake.
