7 drug suspects escape in Zamboanga jailbreak

ZAMBOANGA CITY â€” Seven suspected drug dealers bolted from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) detention facility in Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City at around 2:45 in the morning on Monday, May 13, 2024.

The escapees who are facing charges before the court were identified as Wilson Indanan Sahiban, Junjimar Hajili Aiyob, Jimmy Angeles Sahibol, Kerwin Mohammad Abdilla, Albadir Mala Ajijul, Muhajiran Romeo Jumlah, and Amil Khan Mahadali Abubasar.

The suspects passed through a hole in the ceiling of their prison cell.

A joint manhunt operation has been launched involving the PDEA and the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

The seven suspects were arrested during the May 3 buy-bust operations in Barangay Mampang, which yielded 21.4 kg. of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP145.5 million.

The PDEA tagged the operation as the biggest drug haul in the Zamboanga Peninsula in recent years.-Jun Tubilag
