DAVAO CITY (June 1) — Some 300 disgruntled members of Kadamay, abandoned membership from the  group citing anomalies  perpetrated by their leaders.

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, the GMA network news reported that 300 of the 400 Kadamay members threw their identification cards as they abandoned the group, saying they could no  longer tolerate the wrongdoings of their leaders.

Jefrrey Ariz, the leader of the group, in an interview with GMA said they have been used by Kadamay in all rallies, often they are forced to join the rally.

Ariz alleged that Kadamay collects money from  them ranging from P150 to P300, everytime a rally is held,

“Ginagamit lang kami, sawang-sawa na kami,” Ariz told GMA news.

Another protester,  Bueno Cayman said  they are now staying away from the group “nagkakaisa kami laban sa panloloko nila sa min.”

But Kadamay President Pat Tupas, accused Ariz group , of selling housing units  “Hindi namin tino-tolerate ang ginagawa nila.”

A woman who was not identified in the video claimed,   she  gave her pig to the Kadamay officials in exchange of a housing unit but until now Kadamay has yet to give her a unit.

Another unidentified occupant claimed a leader of Kadamay sold to him a housing unit at P10,000.

Months ago, Kadamay illegally occupied housing units in Pandi, Bulacan built by government for the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology,

Kadamay is a militant urban poor group claiming as defenders of the informal settlers.

Beneficiaries of the housing units abandoned their claim citing sub-standard housing units.-ezc/NewsLine.ph
