DAVAO CITY (June 18) — The killing of veteran journalist and newspaper publisher Dennis Denora was caught and recorded in a dash cam video.
The Task Force Denora is now tracking the four persons of interest in the killing.
A highly placed Newsline.ph source revealed, a private individual submitted a dashcam video, to police authorities, which captured the killing of Denora. The video was taken while the owner of the camera was traversing the Panabo-Tagum highway.
The same source said the investigators have cross-matched the bullets taken from the crime scene and those collected in previous murder cases.
It turned out that same .45 caliber pistol was used in five murder cases which took place in Compostela Valley Province.
In said report, it states “TF Denora investigation disclosed that as per result of ballistic, it yielded that the firearm used in Denora killing is the same firearm used in five instances in Compostela vallley, We are now evaluating suspects n those cases and will use any photograph of them for the possible confirmation of the ‘witnesses’.”
The same report submitted last June 15, stated “TF Denora are now on the process of circulating the photograph of the suspects from the obtained dash cam recorder to all intelligence units of this province for possible identification of the gunman, Likewise, we are identifying the individuals with the victim in picture taken at Eagle’s Kapehan minutes before he was gunned down.”

Lawyer Louie Padillo, spokesperson of the TF Denora told Newsline.ph “We are collating all possible evidence to identify the perpetrators.”
As it is now, the task force has yet to make public their update on the case.
Jane Denora, widow of the slain journalists said they pin their hope to the authorities “We do not have any idea who killed my husband and I am hoping the authorities can identify and arrest his killers.

Though, Denora said “There are so many speculations but I cannot believe because they do not have evidence yet.”
Padillo earlier said they are looking into Denora’s work and politics as among the possible motive “But everything is not certain yet.
Denora was identified as among the friends and supporters of Davao del Norte second district Representative Antonio Floirendo.
Denora reportedly was critical on House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Floirendo and Alvarez are at odds over personal matter, their friendship turned sour as Alvarez filed a case against Floirendo in 2017.

Floirendo is now out on bail after the Sandiganbayan ordered his arrest, earlier this year.
Alvarez filed a case against Floirendo over Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) signed between Tagum Agriculture Development Corporation Inc. (TADECO) and the Bureau of Corrections, and the use of the vast Davao Penal Colony (DAPECOL) property by the Floirendo’s for their banana business.
Denora was gunned down last June 7, 2018, along the highway of Panabo City, reportedly by a riding in tandem.

When Denora was killed, Floirendo’s supporters speculated Alvarez had a hand, an accusation the Speaker vehemently denied.
Alvarez , in an interview with NewsLine.ph, said he has no reason to kill Denora “I file cases, I don’t kill people.” Alvarez asked the investigators to look into all angles and give justice to Denora’s death,
Alvarez even said “Denora could be a collateral damage” sayings there is a crack among the camp of the Floirendo’s.
The last publication of Denora’s paper carried a story about Alvarez’ P3-million promise to the barangay leaders during the May 14 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.-Editha Z. Caduaya/Newsline.ph
