DAVAO CITY (July 26) — Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph Evangelista asked the barangay captains to prepare the Barangay Development Plan which will be incorporated in the Comprehensive Development Plan of the city.

The crafting of the barangay development plan is the task of the appointed members of the barangay development council (BDC), represented by the cross-section of the society who are in-charge of the planning and crafting the development agenda of a village.

Every barangay project should be passed and approved by the BDC, which will be adopted by the barangay council.

In his meeting with village officials, Evangelista stressed the importance of a barangay development plan “It is very important because all development must be synchronized with the plan of the city, if the plan is sound and sustainable the city government will fund it.”

Among the agencies which should participate n the BDC deliberations include representatives from the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the City Office of the Interior and Local Government, the City Planning and Development Office, the City Health Office, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office. Every plan, according to Evangelista should include components on public safety, disaster mitigation, health, nutrition, education, and revenue generation.-Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine
