Cathay Pacific offers direct Davao City-Hongkong flights

DAVAO CITY  (October 29)-  Good news for travelers as they can directly fly from Davao City to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific.

The Hong Kong flag carrier through its regional airline, Cathay Dragon, has launched a four-times-weekly service to Davao City on Sunday, October 28.

The flights which will be serviced by Airbus A320 aircraft will be set on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“We have a rich and robust history of serving the Philippines and we are thrilled today to grow our presence to Davao, our fourth destination in the country,” Cathay Pacific country manager for the Philippines Rob Bradshaw said.

Davao is the fourth city in the country which has direct connections with Hong Kong, after Manila, Cebu, and Clark.

“Davao was on our radar scheme for route launch for quite some time and I’m so glad that this time has come,” said Ronald Lam, commercial director of Cathay Pacific.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Davao said this is a welcome development for the city to strengthen its economy and tourism.

This is the third international flight available at the Davao airport. The other two destinations are Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.-  Jiann Padillo/ NewsLine
