LAMITAN CITY, BASILAN (January 17)— Hundreds of residents from various villages here joined the grand rally in the hope of pushing voters to support the proposed Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).
In convincing the residents to support the BOL, Lamitan Mayor Rosita Furigay said the proposed system of government is beneficial to the people given than huge amount of budget will be allocated to distribute the development of the region.
Mohager Iqbal, chairperson of the peace panel in his speech said “Giving yes to BOL means justice, peace, progress, development and unity.”
Iqbal appealed to Basileños to support the BOL and vote yes.
Lamita Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay echoed Iqbal’s call and even asked his people to get out early and vote for yes on January 21, the scheduled date for the plebiscite in the province.
“Whether its a BARMM or Armm, the people will benefit,” Furigay said in the presence of 45 barangay captains in his municipality.
President Rodrigo Duterte has called on the people in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to support the BOL to pave the way foe the strengthened and new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARM).
