Bicol coach dies while attending PRISAA

DAVAO CITY (May 22) — The beach volleyball coach from Bicol delegation who was here to join the Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) died due to cardiac arrest on Monday, May 20.

Report from Talomo Police Station revealed, Pedrito Salonga, Jr., 53, of Region 3 was found lifeless inside the billeting headquarters at the Maa National High School in Davao City around 4 a.m.

Salonga’s brother, Dino Salonga, who was near him tried to wake up Pedrito but when he noticed we was not responding, he immediately called for medical assistance.

Emergency crew immediately brought Salonga to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) but was declared dead on arrival at about 5:10 a.m.

The attending physician said the cause of death was believed to be cardiac arrest. An autopsy was conducted,

City Health Office (CHO) head Josephine Villafuerte said the city is already preparing for the needed assistance to Pedrito, including the transfer of his body to his hometown in Angeles, Pampanga City.-NewsLine.ph
