Super Typhoon Hagibis makes landfall in Japan

DAVAO CITY — The Japan Meteorological Agency has reported that typhoon Hagibis made landfall in Izu Peninsula, Southwest of Tokyo just before 7p.m Philippine time.

Hagibis has been categorized as a terrifying category 5 storm . The JMA sa Hagibis resembled a typhoon that hit the Tokyo region in 1958 with heavy rains and left a half-million houses flooded.

The government of Japan has ordered the residents of affected areas to leave their homes as Typhoon Hagibis bears down on Tokyo, having already caused power outages, flooding and widespread travel disruption.
