Government doctor busted

DAVAO CITY — A resident surgeon of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) was busted by members of Sta. Ana police, after selling suspect illegal drugs to a police personnel who posted as buyer at about 3:a.m October 22.

Police Major Michale Uyanguren, chief of Sta. Ana Police Precinct, identified the arrested physician as John Perret Herrera, 33, single, and a resident of New Matina, Gravahan, this city.

Herrera was arrested after receiving the marked money from Police Corporal Hermoso, along Suazo St.,

“He did not resist, he admitted selling illegal drugs to some of his friends in the LGBT community whom he met through the social media,” Uyanguren told NewsLine.ph.

Police found the following items in Herrera’s possession: 1) One transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu; 2) Dried Marijuana leaves; 3) One (1) disposable syringe containing suspected liquidized and; 4) One (1) unit Realme 3 cellular phone.

His red Toyota Vios bearing plate TOJ 320 was brought to the police station.

Uyanguren who led the buy-bust operation said, they coordinated with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and with his personnel, namely: PMSg Cadenas, PSSg Dela Fuente, PSSg Cameros, PCpl Uyanguren, Pat Jumawan, Pcpl Tamboboy, Pat Pantanosas and PCpl Hermoso.

Herrera, according to Uyanguren, has been listed as among the high value targets in the illegal drugs list.

The police is now preparing to file charges against Herrera for violating the anti-illegal drugs law.-Reeye Nuñez/ezc
