DAVAO CITY — Over 838,589 households in Davao Region have been assessed by theDepartment of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Listahanan program since its launching in October 2019.

Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is an information management system implemented by DSWD that identifies who and where the poor are in the country.

This information is then used to identify poor Filipino households as basis for
qualification in the programs and services of national government agencies.

“We thank the local government units for their continued support to the 3rd round of household assessment and we expect more of their help during the validation and finalization phase this April,” Ms. Elvie Bahinting, DSWD-11 Listahanan regional field coordinator, said.

The validation and finalization phase will involve the posting of the initial list of poor
households in conspicuous places within the barangay for the community to review.

Households who were not visited during the assessment are given the chance to appeal and to be assessed in this phase.

“We are hopeful that the clean and validated results of the assessment will be available by August this year,” Ms. Bahinting added.

DSWD partnered with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to ensure the cooperation of local government units (LGUs), specifically the barangays, in the ongoing household assessment.-PR
