“Jail guard” in P1.3-M drugs holds fake government ID

ILIGAN CITY —  Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr. has ordered an investigation why a suspected drug dealer was holding a fake identification card claiming he is a jail guard.

Adiong denied having an employee in the name of  Walid Nessaer Usman.

In a statement released o Tuesday, Adiong emphasized  “Usman is not and has never been an employee or worker of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur.”

Usman who claimed to be a  provincial guard,  was arrested  on Sunday, March 8,  while transporting some P1.3-million worth of suspected meth.

The governor said  Usman, a resident n Baloi, Lanao del Norte is not a provincial employee.

Usman was arrested by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 10, who tailed him from Iligan City, in a checkpoint in Barangay Tampilong, Marawi City and siezed from him around 200 grams of suspected shabu.

Operatives also recovered from him an identification card with the logo of the provincial jail, his name and photos and name with signature of Adiong.

OIC Provincial Warden Acmad Tabao  in a statement also denied Usman is an emplyee of his office and claimed that the ID confiscated by the authorities “is fake” .

”I have requested the Provincial Prosecutor of Lanao del Sur to investigate this matter, with our Provincial Legal Office, to provide full support to the investigation. We would like to assure everyone that those found guilty shall be dealt with accordingly, and with full force of the law,” Adiong’s statement added.

Tabao however said, Usman’s father was  a computer encoder of the provincial jail office.

The Philippine Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) tagged Usman as a high value target.  He was  under surveillance for over a month prior to is arrested.-Divina Suson.
