Of the 61, Davao City recorded 49, Davao del Norte six (6); Davao Oriental three (3); Davao de Sur two (2) , one (1) from Davao de Oro and zero in Davao Occidental.
Dr. Lenny Joy Rivera, assistant regional director of the Department of Health (DOH) XI said Davao City reflects a “High given the big area and there are many travelers”.
Of the 61, 12 were traced to have visited New Matina Gallera; of the 12, four died while one recovered.
But health authorities noted a very slight increase in the number of positive cases, when it reflected two new cases since March 31.
To this Dr. Leopoldo Vega, chief of hospital of the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC) stressed the local government units and health authorities have imposed strict compliance on “Physical distancing and identify, contain and segregate cases found positive.”
Among those who were tested positive include travelers from Manila seven (7), eight have close contact with a positive patient while the rest of the cases are still being investigated.
But there are two cases, with a history of going to a wedding and the other attended a graduation ceremony.
On the medical workers tested positive, Rivera said some of them have travel history and some attended to patients without personal protective equipment “Because they were not aware it was a COVID positive.”
The cases involving health workers were traced after the March 15 lockdown when they developed symptoms, she added.
Vega said as of April 1, 2020, all other health workers at the hospital were tested negative.
