DAVAO CITY — A member of the Davao Occidental anti-drugs police unit was arrested selling illegal drugs to a government agent who was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Kidalapong, Malita town at around 8 o’clock in the evening on Sunday night August 30.

Antonio Rivera, PDEA XI regional director identified the suspected high-value target as PSSG Badrudin Usop, a resident of Cotabato City, assigned in the drug enforcement unit in the province of Davao Occidental.

“The police office is located near the baywalk of the town where residents stroll at night. At first, he impressed everyone that he was monitoring illegal drugs activity in the area but later, a report revealed he was selling illegal drugs, contrary to his mission.”

Rivera said Usop had been under surveillance for weeks and the authorities were able to establish the later’s involvement in trading illegal drugs.

Usop got his supply from Cotabato City and is selling the same to Davao Occidental.

When the deal was sealed, Usop, according to Rivera, illegal drugs come from Cotabato City with a total of P6,800 worth of shabu and other drug paraphernalia had been seized by authorities from the suspect.

Rivera said Usop is a newly identified high-value target (HVT) of the PDEA 11. Newsline.ph
